Who We Are
Avon Mennonite Church is people. Beautiful, imperfect, fascinating people - like you.
We don't all look the same or have the same backgrounds, education levels, hobbies, social interests or political views - but we think that's a good thing. We value diversity and view our differences as gifts and opportunities to learn and grow from one another.
What draws us together into community is essentially God's Spirit.
We believe life is spiritual, that God is present and involved in our lives.
And although we are on unique journeys as individuals, we believe God has brought us together to live and grow in the context of community, following a particular spiritual path - the way of Jesus.
The call of Christ is hard to explain to those who haven't experienced it, but it has united us in a desire to grow in loving relationships with God, humanity, one another and our own selves, and to help bring peace, reconciliation and wholeness to all of creation.
There's obviously more to us than this (we also love to laugh, have fun, create, learn, serve, sing, dance, eat, drink and be merry) and hopefully this website will help you learn more about who we are and what we're about. But if you really want to know who we are and what we're about, come visit us sometime. We'd love to meet you.
